Superfunk.

Superfunk.

So my sister suggested an a-z list of tracks called an Alphalist awhile ago. Needless to say it was a huge hit. I thought it was cool enough to create multiple “themes” on the subject. This one is the Superfunk. I’ll have more soon! Enjoy!

Digital Photography.

Digital Photography.

I sure do love my Canon A570 IS. For a point & shoot it has some very nice features. For instance: macro, full manual, additional lenses, and multiple auto settings. All in all I think it’s a great gadget.

Now all I have to do is find some free image hosting. So far, Google’s Picasa seems to be the best, because I can upload the full resolution pics. Plus they can store the videos I take. Flickr will only let me upload @ 1024×768 and therefore blows. Same with Photobucket. The only downside of Picasa is the 1 gig limit on free storage. I’m sure I’ll grab some additional storage later, when it’s needed.

Having it reminds me of the photography classes I took as electives in grade & high school. I must have taken 6 years of it. It used to be my favorite thing to do in school. The only thing that kept me from taking tons of pics was the camera. They were too expensive, and for a tweaker like me, I would not settle for a fully automatic point & shoot, and didn’t like the idea of having to give my film to someone else to develop.

This has all changed with digital. I can now shoot with full manual mode, and “develop” the shots with photoshop. Without the spendy black room. So far, I’m still using the camera to capture the full image. I will soon start using photoshop to “finish” my pics. Beware… they could be awesome.

What I really need is a tripod. I just can’t take stunning photos with the shutter open for more than a second by hand.

Below are some pics I have shot. Nothing too fancy yet, just some test shots. Getting a feel for the thing still. I’m testing the links so if you can’t get to the full res yet, just know, I’m working on it.

A Post!

A Post!

I know, weird right?

Where have I been? Well let me tell you! For my birthday, I did absolutely nothing. Both of my roommates were out so I just stayed in and watched HD movies all day. It was great. One of the best birthdays a guy could ask for. I did spend most of the afternoon and all of the evening with a nice bottle of bourbon and got severely wrenched.

The next day I had made plans to hang out with Jana who was in town and wanted to meet for a birthday beer. While waiting, I dozed off and didn’t wake up till around 10:30pm and by then I was too late. So, another day of not-a-whole-lot. It sucked.

For xmas I drove up to Seattle to my cousin Paul’s house and hung out with most of the Morgan clan. I picked up my uncle Dan on the way in at Sea-Tac airport. We purchased many micro brews at the store and stayed up all night partying. It was then I found out that the last time I was up there, I gave Paul a copy of studio MX and he turned that into a new career building an intranet. He does stuff on the side too, here’s his website.

I totally slept right through xmas but I heard it was allot of fun. Justin, Paul’s son, had a blast and the living room was a mess.

The next day was sunny and warmish so Dan and I were on a mission to replace a belt in Paul’s car. We got the belt off, and went to get the replacement. We went to Sears to get some tools and then we stopped at the Rock for food. A rock and roll themed pizza joint that brews their own beer. It was good. We stopped at the first parts place we could find but they did not carry the part in question. So, off to Shucks we go and sure enough, they had it. Leaving Shucks it was decided that we were out of daylight and that we should probably check out the place that had the sign that read: “stop in for some holiday cheer.” We did, and were totally ripped off. $15 for a pitcher of Winterhook is just stupid. It was your standard plastic bar pitcher so you get about 3 1/4 pints. They sell the pints for $3.00. You do the math.

The next morning I woke up to a dismal weather scene. It was rainy and cold and threatening to snow. Needless to say the belt never made it on to the car as planned. We just watched movies all day. It ended up dumping 3-4 inches of snow but it melted off in an hour.

I drove back home in the afternoon on the 27th. It took a very long time to get through Seattle as there was mad traffic and rain / snow. After I got home, I proceeded to shop for xmas presents! I received an Amazon gift card from my uncle, with which I bought this digital camera. I can’t wait to get it and take many pic’s for you to look at. I also got enough birthday / xmas money to upgrade my rig. I should be receiving my Conroe sometime today. I will let you know just how badass my rig is after I install it!

Now I must go get coffee!
