Attack!

Attack!

One thing I have never had is allergies. Apparently this has changed as I had a severe allergy attack when I woke up on Thursday.

My arms were covered with these red blotchy patches that were really itchy and if I scratched them they would only get itchier and then hurt like a son of a bitch. My lips swelled up and turned purple, also with the itchy/pain thing going on. So I took it pretty easy Thursday and didn’t do anything. I tried to sleep but the bitch ass itchies wouldn’t let that happen. Friday it seemed to be getting better as the red patches were mostly gone. I did still have the itchy/pain in my hands and they were pretty swollen, but I could deal with it.

I had no idea that it could have been allergies and pretty much dismissed it. Friday night though? SUCKED! All night I would not stop scratching in my sleep and it woke me up 200 times at least. This morning I had the red stuff covering almost both my arms, ears, neck, throat, face, and back. So I finally said fuck it and went to the urgent care by my house.

The diagnosis was an acute form of allergy that starts with a “U”. I can’t read the handwriting. Apparently this type of reaction is usually brought on by foods. Which is weird cuz I ain’t never had ‘em before. They gave me some pretty powerful stuff called Prednisone and it wiped our the red itchies in about an hour. Awesome! Included, an antihistamine called Vistaril that is supposed to further stop the itching and knock me out so I can sleep. All better now, and ready for nap!

The Oaks Part 2

The Oaks Part 2

Not much goin on lately, just living and eating and working. Yep, I’m that boring. I think I should win the Least Active Blog award. I’m in the process of getting hired at Yahoo! doing some customer service / illegal content removal. The first interview went extremely well. They made it sound like I already had the job but I have my second interview on Monday. They have 8 or 10 open positions and I made it through the first round. Round two is next. Wish me luck!

The above photo is from my back porch at sunset. Pretty cool huh? Much nicer than winter.
